Good show, it's gotta be hard to think of what to say on the spot I know I couldn't do it. The" pound for pound these fish are just beauties eh" 😂😂 I can't say I've ever heard that one
ya the hardest part is when its cold your month does not want to move and your brain is shot. We try our best.
Great video
I don't see sizing being a huge issue for fish size. I get perch that will hit lures as big as they are. If the fish are hungry they'll attack something big.
What is one of the best bait for walleyes in shallow water with weeds? About six to seven feet of water. About three feet of water above weeds. Have alot of berkley baits. But dive to deep. Thanks, Jim
Have you tried Berkley Hit Stick. They float so if you hit weeds just slow down a little or quick rip through them. I like size 9 for the walleyes that I fish for. www.berkley-fishing.com/products/hit-stick You can also troll over the weeds with planner boards night or day time. You can also Texas / weedless rig power grub, ripple shad, power tail and rip through the weeds.
Number 5 and number 7 flicker shad still getting it done
I like this guy.
Great video! Tight lines my friend!
Thanks for this video, its short and to the point without any extra information or distraction
Chad shilling is a class act guy! You want to get on fish get ahold of him, he won't disappoint!
What about the cooling system? Is it a chance the impeller housing will get ice-cracking? Or other parts, for that matter??
So I personally like to run a sunflower heater and a fan in my unheated garage. Put that fan blowing on motor. All water should run out of intake tubes at access, but could freeze driving back from lake in winter. Thats why I heat with fan during cold months. If your O rings in lower unit are old. Defiantly drain your lower unit grease cuz water could get in on really old motors.
Still I nitro lol
Good stuff. Have the same rig and Verado. Big investment and want to make it last.👍
Jim's leader is way too long or something and figure eight he was killing it on the outside turnk,.r
Great advice. ALWAYS let your engine warm up.
Great fish , Tom has it dialed
How do you know how much line you need out with the tadpole weight? Idk if the precision trolling app has that setup
in the app there is a section for off shore tackle. Inside that section there is tadpole sizes and it will tell you how much line to let out to get your tadpole to that depth. Then you just have to do the math for your lure on top of the tadpole math.
@ThenextbiteTvShow thanks guys!
The Finisher has been working great! I will see how it goes on Green Bay next week
Great, more people
Why does hooking through only one lip drown them?
I can reach out to Andy for a sure reasoning. But I think it has to do with chubs like slow current and possible if fishing Chubs too fast and too much water goes over gills, or down into their throat you will kill them. Hooking both lips closes mouth and less water then is going through the gills and right into their throat. Basically your water boarding torturing the minnow.
Beaver dam lake is in what state
Wisconsin
I've never had a fishfinder before but now have an HDS10. I'm still trying to figure out the right settings to get it all pretty
Crazy. I look at my water pressure more than anything else
Shot gunning.
Are 3/4oz ok?
should be.
How do you see your line and the fish on your Helix? I have a 2024 Helix 10 in the bow (Ulterra) and the dash and can almost never see it even with the gain up.
I know john has a pretty big bait on. Think it was a 6 inch swimbait / minnow. But if you work with gain and sensitivity also shallow water you should be able to see the jig on screen. Its not fishing line your seeing its the jig going up and down thats making the line on screen. aka your trail you lure makes.
What is your opinion on the 4lb fireline
Usually when money is on the line come tournament time. You going to want to use 10 to 12 lbs. 4lbs is fine if you want to cast and go a little farther out. Good for choice for crappies in in the trees.
@ThenextbiteTvShow I've used fireline 6lb and 30lb for many years. I started with the 30 for my catfish rods, and it's been phenomenal. I just started using the 4lb this year. I have high expectations of it and I hope I like it as much as the 6 and 30. Thank you for the reply
@@nativewildman9335I love the 4lb smoke! It’s so thin and it casts a quarter mile too! It’s a little stiffer than conventional braids- but hey it wouldn’t be fireline if it weren’t a little different than its friends 😉
I'm surprised that there are no comments on this video. Fireline is definitely my favorite line. I have been using it for years. On the 6lb test, I pulled in close to 6 foot Cedar trees from about 15 foot deep water. I use 30lb test on my flathead rig. Absolutely amazing fishing line.
Why are you wearing the masks? It looks dum!You should wear them when you talk to us!
reason being is when you spend as much time in the sun and water as these guys do. You tend to get skin cancer. A lot of pro fisherman have had skin cancer and the mask really help so you don’t have laser scares on your face from removal. Or maybe he planning on robbing a steep bank of all of its fish.
I have older Bottom Line fish locator that I purchased around 20+ years ago that also has side imaging! This unit was not cheap, would you say that this is live scope?
side imaging has been around but prices have came down over year. (well prices minus the inflation rate) Garmin Live scope or Lowrance Active Target is more or less ultra sound machine underwater. Its different technology then side imaging.
I get one beep at different times while running. Just one long beep. Oil is good. Water is streaming out motor.
usually that means overheating warning. Might ask a mercury dealer.
@@ThenextbiteTvShow I’ve brought it to my dealer and they fond to codes. They also couldn’t get it to alarm at the dealer.
Have you had any luck finding the problem? Mine started doing the same thing and shut off then wouldn’t start. Then started up later and did it again. Oil is good new water separator, new fuel filter, new plugs TIA
Do you have water streaming out the back of engine? Usually one long beep means overheating. Could be bad sensor if you're peeing water out of back. Engine starts up later because the sensor cooled down.
@@ThenextbiteTvShow yes I have water. I’m about to change pump and see what that does.
Been using a Size 5 on my lake with great success- the key is finding the cadence and not to overwork the bait- some will tell you to work it like a jigging rap, but I've found less is more
Pounded coho's on that this spring
Ya buddy. If you mount an XL rig outboard on your bass boat you're going to have to mount the engine higher. That's how that works buddy 👍
Very informative my friend. Learned something new today. Liked and subbed. Stay safe and connected!
I am yet to find a knot that does not severely weaken fluorocarbon when tied to fireline. Something in the fibers seems to cut it.
The knot we use the most is Albright knot. We also use a smallest barrel swivel (smallest Bass Pro Shop carries) Some guys use the FG Knot it just takes more time. If in a rush for some reason a surgeons knot will work too.
@@ThenextbiteTvShow that knot does not work with the berkley "vanish" 14lb test fluorocarbon i am using. The knot doesnt slip, it just breaks easily. Fourteen lb should not be breakable when pulled by hand. It does not show this problem without the fireline involved. Also, standard berkley xl, my go to line for years, ties very strong to the fireline mentioned.
not sure. is your vanish line old ? Could always try a small swivel and give your self at-least 3 feet of leader.
How do you have two different water temps?
the side scan pucks pick up different temps. He right on mud line in water. Clear side cold, mud sides hotter.
This is why deep v boats exist
Wow so nice very good 😊😊😊😊😊😊
What's the diameter and the pitch of the inertia on a 90hp CT ?
not sure.
Lake map at 3:00 is of West Battle Lake in Minnesota.
good catch. Ya I do the graphics and I live near Wadena and so I used a lake close to me that was similar. The guys did not want to publicly show / say what this lake name was as it is smaller and get lots of pressure. West Battle map was very similar to the lake over there in Northern Wisconsin.
I always enjoy Gary's thoughtful tips and his grownup communication seen in his writing and interviews. My favorite was from way back, during a In-Fisherman PWT event when he was competing with Mike McClelland and the two of them were interviewed, together, going into the last day of the competition. Gary said something to the effect, "Mike is one of the best walleye anglers in the world and if I fish my best best and lost to Mike I can live with that..." Mike said, laughing, "why don't you just stay home then?" Trying to put Gary on the spot; but, Gary handled himself and assured Mike that he would be gunning for him! LOL! A very good memory!
Just last night, i used a jiant creek chub for catfish bait. i caught a 35-inch channel catfish was one hell of a fight he was running with my line every time he was getting close to the shoreline
Kemos is a legend. Thanks for the explanation on your setup! Tight lines!
I just bought a Hook Reveal 9TS with Genesis mapping. I'm looking forward to creating my own maps but I fish several impoundments that fluctuate as much as 10' during the course of a year. What do I need to do to let the unit know how much the lake is up or down from full pool? Thanks
It’s easier for me to tie a loop in the end of the braid and put it over my reel handle.you can keep the perfect tension on your braid as you wrap the fluorocarbon. Then you sit on the rod handle and it’s right in front of you. Ott Defoe shows this in a video.
I’m looking at a Lund gl just to get the 400. I like the skeeter 2200wx bu they only have a 300
What size SD card do you need?
Are you asking Gigs? or SD card size? Gigs more the better. Pretty sure you can use either Micro or regular SD. Micro you will have to use an adapter to scale up to regular SD card size.
Over kill don't need 400
What about the inside edge of the toon?
Not sure. I would say you could as long as its aluminum. Just hard to get into the middle
hello, did you tip the shivering lures with any bait?? I'm heading there May 16th 2024!! Thanks Mo.
No bait needed. It's a reaction strike. They see it fall and bounce up trigger them to bite. Fish a little slower in early spring as fish are still cold and lethargic. If that does not work go shallow slowly fishing crank baits or jig and minnow by feeder creeks and / or rock points. If weeds are not growing yet those fish are up shallow for post spawn. If weeds are growing then they are deeper. Usually thats my quick tip to know depth of fish.
